rsxpami If you like synthwave and want to try something special and original, Polyphemus is a perfect album for that! Recognizable JPJ-style bass and synths, astonishing drumwork. Just like Skittles, this album offers different flavors : dreamwave, darksynth, futuresynth and even busy monday morning synths. Oh, and if you enjoyed David Wise works, you will definitely enjoy JPJ! Favorite track: Eagle Eye.

Don Carlos JPJ really hooking-it-up on this collection of sound/arrangements.
Really endeavoring to keep it real with a heartfelt and yet raw quality to all of these tracks; keeping the vibe high and the sounds ringing true. Favorite track: Stand Guard.

about

Polyphemus is a collection of tracks without a central theme. JPJ has taken effort to experiment with the multiple sub-genres of synthwave (e.g. dreamwave, retrowave, future-synth, and darkwave), so consider Polyphemus an experimental synthwave album - one where the artist can humbly admit to his new arrival into the genre.

JPJwas founded by Tommy Uhlarik, a resident of the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, in 2016. The sound of JPJcan be attributed to Uhlarik's background in progressive rock, particularly King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd and Focus. The merger of that genre, with those found in the 80s, can best explain how these sounds were formed, and with that JPJ hopes the listener enjoys the unique characteristics that have gone into making this style of synthwave.
